It?s the beginning of a new month and with that comes a variety of local events to attend here in the Coastal Bend. Spend this weekend promoting a good cause, soaking up what the Corpus Christi community has to offer, or solving a mystery.

National Wear Red Day


The American Heart Association is asking you ? the men and women of the Coastal Bend to do your part and potentially save a life by participating in National Wear Red Day. Heart disease kills 1 in 3 women which is why it?s so important to stand together to raise awareness. So on February 2 show your support by wearing red, posting pictures, and sharing heart disease information and make sure you tag your pictures with #CorpusGoRed. Oil Painting Classes

If you?ve always wanted to learn more about oil painting this class is your opportunity to do just that. For a small fee the Art Center of Corpus Christi is offering a class that breaks down the basic fundamentals of painting and teaches it to those who are willing to learn. Students will receive individual attention and learn the various aspects associated with oil painting. To participate in the classes you need to contact the Art Center the day before the class. Marina Arts District Art Walk

The first Friday of the month means it?s time for the Art Walk. Every month you will see downtown Corpus Christi come alive with music, various arts and crafts vendors, and not to mention multiple food trucks. Come out to the Art Walk and explore the creative community that Corpus Christi has to offer. Friday, 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Peoples Street, La Retama Park, marinaarts.com.

Clue the Musical


Clue, the internationally popular game is now a fun and interactive musical portrayed by the Harbor Playhouse. The musical brings all the characters from the board game to life and invites the audience to help solve the mystery. As the musical unfolds pay close attention for any clues so you can be one step closer to figuring out who killed Mr. Bobby. Jeremy Denk & Stefan Jackiw

This weekend Jeremy Denk, one of America?s foremost pianists, is going to join forces with Stefan Jackiw to perform at the Wolfe Recital Hall at Del Mar East Campus. Jackiw is said to be one of his generation?s most significant violinists. These pair of outstanding musicians will most certainly give a concert that will captivate the audience.
