If the kids are asking to stay up and ring in the New Year, this might be a good compromise. The Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History will throw a confetti countdown to noon for those who won?t ?make it to midnight. Museum goers can make stomp rockets and various fireworks crafts, watch Museum Live shows, and participate in science experiments as they usher in 2016. Polar Bear Plunge
Remember the ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) ice bucket challenge that took social media by storm in 2014? The challenge just got bigger. Run into the chilly waters at North Beach during the Corpus Christi Polar Bear Plunge, a charity event that raises money for ALS research. All proceeds go to the ALS Therapy Development Institute, the top-rated charity for ALS research. Don't miss the after party at Fajitaville.?Friday, Noon, 221 S. American Bank Half Marathon
Your New Year?s resolution to lose weight starts bright and early in 2016. This half marathon and 5k kicks off at the American Bank towers Saturday morning and spans all the way down Ocean Drive.
